At the beginning of Tuesday’s meeting, Bill Stern from the Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee (PMBC) spoke with the community on the upcoming April 5th City Cleanup Day as well as other new initiatives for keeping Philadelphia neighborhoods clean and green.
It was urged that all interested community members register with PMBC, which gives access to Streets and Services resources. In particular, registering before April 5th will help Bill and his team schedule trash pickups, and provide supplies for volunteers.
You may register your block by visiting the PMBC website or calling:
(215) 683-CLEAN Or 215-685-3989
Be sure to mention you live in or near Hawthorne!
Finally, Mr. Stern provided HEC with cleanup supplies, such as brooms, workgloves, trashbags, and a long-awaited box of “Curb Your Dog” and “Do Not Litter” signs! suitable for hanging outside – supplies are limited, but for more information on getting a sign for your block, contact HEC at info@hecphilly.org.
Check back soon for more updates on Hawthorne’s planned activities for April 5th’s Cleanup Day!
