Global Youth Basketball Association (G.Y.B.A.) is non-profit
organization located in the Northwest section of Philadelphia,
dedicated to the development of today’s youth in sports & education.
G.Y.B.A provides a safe and structured environment where student
athletes can develop effective conditioning techniques and master the
fundamentals of basketball for league play. Our girl’s basketball
league at Imhotep Institute Charter High School will host a basketball
tournament and toy drive for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia on
December 13, 2008 at our new home court located Imhotep Institute
Charter High School.

On December 13, 2008 our tournament will host 6 teams from around the
area. At the toy drive, guests will bring new toys which will be
donated to children all over the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
The teams and other community partners will deliver the toys to the
children around the hospital on or prior to Christmas Day. Children’s
Hospital has provided us with a wish list of over 100 toys and our
goal is to ensure all the items are obtained. This service project is
extremely important to the girl’s basketball players on our team and
those participating in the tournament. Some of our community partners
who will assist with the toy drive are: Raveena Media Group, Philly
Musick Magazine, Gtown Radio â€" The Rec, Columbia recording artist
Selina Carrera, just to name a few.
